Name: Sarah Kennedy
Occupation: RDH (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Number of years with MNFD: 4.5 yrs
Hometown: Majority of my childhood was in Brodhead; I went to Orfordville HS.
Husband- Doug, who I adore. He is a carpenter. We’ve been married for almost 8 yrs.
Son- Devin, age 5. He is a very loving, creative, and energetic little guy.
Daughter- Kaylee, age 2. She is just the sweetest, most cautious, and organized little thing.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
At first I thought I wanted to be some sort of counselor to help people. Then I took some college classes in HS on pysch and sociology and realized I was way too emotional for that. Ha! By the end of my junior year in high school I knew I wanted to be a dental hygienist.
What was your first job? Other than babysitting, a hostess at Perkins.
What are your hobbies/interests?
Right now, family is my absolute #1 favorite thing! If I were to get enough time (without any guilt) to myself to do whatever I wanted, I would love to catch up with friends, garage sale shop, thrift shop, repurpose furniture, put on some good music and cook for fun (instead of a chore), or just read a good book!
What is your favorite sport to watch and/or play? Don’t watch sports, unless it’s my son’s t-ball or swim lessons.
What is your biggest pet-peeve? Selfishness
What was your favorite band(s) in high school?
I would listen to The Cranberries (Irish rock band) nonstop over and over! Especially to their song “Dreaming my Dreams” and “No Need to Argue”. I still have ALL of their CDs!
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Any place with a good warm beach. I do have very fond childhood memories in Hudson, FL visiting my grandparents.
Name one thing on your Bucket List:
My bucket list is huge! But just one short-term bucket list goal would be a family vacation somewhere tropical.
Do you have any hidden talents? Nope.
What are you really bad at that you’d love to be great at? Music. I especially admire those who can sing and play the piano.
What is something about you that might surprise us?
I was number one in Rock County for barebow archery when I was like 15 or 16. Still have the bow, it’s like riding a bike, and you never forget how to do it. Weird I know.
What is your favorite part of working for MNFD?
Coming to work with people that I actually enjoy and for working for a boss who really does care about everyone.
